Quote: Reminders

Reminders of work are either attractive or repulsive. Most to-do lists and their contents create more stress than they relieve because to a large extent they represent thinking and decision-making still undone. They have become reminders of guilt and overwhelm, not sources of clarity or catalysts for productive action. Effective lists should be the result of appropriate and sufficient thinking, not salt in the wound of avoided decisions and conversations.
