Many of my friends like to have Mother’s Day away from their children. "I need a break," one of them told me.
And honestly, there are days when I feel like that too.
I’m fairly new at Mother’s Day, only having done them eight times. But this year was exceptional.
My daughter spent the whole day with me. We napped together. We read together. We played video games together. We read a magazine together.
She chose to be with me over her friends, who were playing outside within sight. I felt very flattered by that.
And it was a great day.
